My name is Ewa Cholewa. I'm the owner and chef of EJ Pierogi. I bring passion and skill to every dish, making sure each item is made with care and attention to flavor.
I grew up and nurtured my love for cooking in my hometown of Kudowa-Zdrój, Poland, where I got my culiary training at the Kudowa Zdroj Technical School. I began my culinary career as a cook at Kosmos Hotel, and then a sous chef at the Swiss Holiday Hotel.
Opening a restaurant of my own has been a lifelong dream of mine. After many years of hard work, I was able to make that dream a reality, and EJ Pierogi was born.
Meet my family; my husband Piotr and my kids Peter, Tomek, and Agnes.
Agnes handles behind the scenes things like scheduling, graphic design, and social media.
I am lucky to have such an incredible and loving family. I would not have been able to achieve my dream without their support.
I owe my love for cooking to my dearly departed mom Anna, and my late grandmother Zofia. They were incredibly supportive of me pursueing my passion, and they are the reason I was able to make EJ Pierogi what it is today.
Our grand opening was in May of 2013.
Over the years, we made many amazing memories here.
And even when times got tough,
I was always happy to see my amazing customers; the EJ Pierogi family.
We closed our doors on November 13th, 2021, but that wasn't the end of EJ Pierogi.
A New Beginning
In the summer of 2022, our food truck hit the ground running!
Since then, we have been serving delicious pierogi all over the Chicago area!
No matter the weather, our drive thru is always open!
We celebrated our ten year anniversary at one of our favorite places to serve pierogi: Lynfred Winery.
